Our Baby and Nursery Rooms

My Child is 3 - 4 years old

Welcome to our pre–school area, Nursery 2. The aim of this area is to prepare for our adventure into full time school whilst we play and have fun.

All the toys and activities are accessible to the children so that they have the choice of things they would like to do. As well as this free choice play there are activities set to help each area of their development including creative things such as colour mixing, collage work, junk model building, clay modelling, language activities including letter recognition and sound building using varied techniques including whole group work with puppets and stories, small group work with word lotto and individual one to one work with flash cards. There are always maths activities too including games, threading, matching and number recognition.

The role play area is one of the most well used areas by all the children. This is changed on a monthly basis to try to capture their imagination. Sand and water are always available as are musical instruments and science equipment.

Much work is done on personal skills and learning to be independent e.g. eating, toileting and personal hygiene. This helps to ease the transition into school and make it an exciting time.

We are very proud of the work done in Nursery 2 and love to show off what we have done so please come and have a look around, as we also love to make new friends!
