Welcome to Nursery 1, the base room for 2 and 3 year olds. Here we make sure that we have lots of fun whilst we learn. Although we provide a routine set around activities we always allow the children to choose what they would like to do. Therefore toys and equipment are accessible so that they can get out what they would like to play with. This also means that they learn to help to tidy away!

Each session every toddler has the chance to experience a creative activity e.g. painting, cutting, sticking, finger painting, sand and water trays are always available, a language activity such as word lotto, singing, puppets, as well as a maths activity e.g. threading, matching, bingo, games.

We have a role play area that changes each month. This encourages them to use their imaginations and work together with their friends. Other popular activities include construction, cars, dolls houses etc.

During each session we have physical play outside (inside if the weather is too bad). We have lots of bikes, balls, games, a climbing frame and slide to encourage balance and new skills. We also go on many trips e.g. to the library, park, fish market, and aquarium, depending on the topic.
